Home again

I'm sitting here at my computer, where I've spent most of the past days. I did go to the new church this morning that I wanted to visit. It, too, has the video screen for the hymns, but at least theyr'e singing hymns! It was a pretty church and well maintained. I think it says a lot about a church's spiritual health when one allows their santuary - the place they gather to worship - to fall into disrepair. I've visited two recently that showed lack of maintenance. Today, though, Caanan Baptist was beautiful and I was made to feel very welcome.

They are currently in a building program - I think building a children's facility. We'll see if anyone comes from there this week to visit me! It's always interesting to see if and how a new church chooses to contact visitors.

I know that at my home church, College Heights, every visitor can expect a letter from the pastor. Many receive personal visits from him as well. Most every visitor will receive a contact from someone.

Our visit with Charli on Friday was the best ever. I'll try to add a picture or two with my next post. It had to be one of the hardest things I've done - allowing DHR to leave here with that baby! It seemed easier when I was the one to walk out of the building and leave. When they took her from my perfectly safe, stocked home, it broke my heart all over again. She did seem to remember being here, though, which made me feel a little better about things.

I just wish this nightmare would end and our lives could return to some semblance of normalcy.

Anyway, all in God's perfect time...
