Well, we have a new Miss Alabama. I'm not certain about what to say about Amanda Tapley other than she sure improved tenfold over the last time I saw her at Miss Leeds last year and really impressed the judges. At least, I hope that's what caused her to win the title of Miss Alabama 2008. Honestly, there were other young women who I feel are more qualified and better suited for the crown, but none of the judges asked for my opinion.
About the baby: I had a good check-up yesterday and Luke appears to be growing right on schedule. I have my next appointment on July 15. That will include the Glucose Screening Test where I have to drink 5 oz of a high-sugar drink and wait an hour for them to see how my body is handling sugar during my pregnancy. During that hour I'll have my regular 4-week check-up. The doctor said yesterday that after that check-up, I'll come back in 3-weeks then in 2-weeks until the last month when I come in weekly.
Luke is pretty low right now which is causing me some pain. The doctor had to try and shift him a little yesterday to get to my pelvic bone to do the latest measurement. Add that to the dogs hogging the bed - they won't be coming in tonight! - and I have some serious hip and back pain today.
I'm still 1 lb shy of the weight I was at in Feb. at my initial visit. The doctor said yesterday that I still should gain between 15-20 lbs, but that Luke appears to be growing so they aren't concerned.
