TOBP

TOBP = Tired of Being Pregnant

At least that's what the doctor I saw on Tuesday said.

Yes, a real doctor in the practice was complaining about the women between 34-36 weeks who were TOBP and decided to go to Labor & Delivery. She was complaining because she was the on-call doctor and was making multiple trips to L&D between seeing patients.

Now, here I am at 35 weeks in for my regular appt. and all she does is measure me and glance over my chart! Her nurse took my BP - normal - and checked Luke's heart rate - 146. She hadn't even met with the nutriotionist yet to see if I was going on insulin. I had to wait in the nutritionist's office until they could talk.

They did decide to put me on insulin and the nutritionist says, "Go straight to the pharmacy. I'm calling this in right now." So over I head to the pharmacy, once I make it out of the parking deck. And then I wait. And wait. And ask about the prescription. At 4:30 PM, I called the doctor's office back to see if they've called it in. No live people on the phones. I call back at 5:00 PM and get the message that the office is closed. Still no prescription. After waiting for almost 2 hours at the pharmacy to realize they're not calling it in that day, I head home...in the middle of rush hour. It takes me over an hour to go the 15 miles to home! I didn't make it to the Season ticket holder picnic or one of the last regular season home Baron's games. I was NOT happy!

I woke-up Wednesday morning feeling lousy. Guess what? I get an upper respiratory infection on top of Luke pushing against my lungs/diaphram and limiting my breathing. I stayed-home from work and got a lot of sleep. I finally get a message around 11:00 AM on Wed. that they've finally called-in my insulin. So, I'll be heading back to the pharmacy after work. I've also got my Breastfeeding Basics class tonight at 6PM, so its back to St. Vincents for that!

Anyway, I go back to the doctor on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Maybe they'll have time to answer a few questions! I am looking forward to my final baby shower on Sunday!
