I'm certain that it won't be his last visit, as much as I hope, but Luke had his first visit to Children's Hospital's ER last night. We're going to his regular pediatrician, Ryan Walley, today at noon, but apparently Luke is suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Poor baby - he so doesn't feel well. He's congested, coughing and has an obvious sore throat. This morning, the drainage was causing him to gag.
It scared me half-to-death when the pediatrician's office told me to take him to Children's. I was expecting a "Give him some Tylenol and call us tomorrow if he's not better." response to my call. Instead, I got a "Take him to the ER."
Fortunately, we were seen immediately when we arrived. Our total visit time was about an hour and ten minutes from the time we walked into the ER until the time we left. My mom and dad, Luke's MeMe and G-Daddy, made the trip up from Gadsden because I was in a near panic not knowing what they would do or say. We'll see what Dr. Walley has to say and I'll try to update afterward.
On another note, Luke has a spot in my work daycare...starting Jan. 5. I'm still trying to figure out what to do until then, as I was released to return to work on Nov. 24.
