Okay, so I read that I could just send an email to a specialized address and it would post on the blog. So I'm trying this method of updating!
I am involved in the Miss America system as a local volunteer, judge and fan. I co-direct the Miss Jacksonville State University pageant. As part of the Miss America system, each young woman competing has to choose an issue that's close to her heart to promote. Diedre Downs, Miss America 2005, chose to support Pediatric Cancer awareness. Since I've met Diedre, I'm not sure if I'm more aware of childhood cancers or actually know more children getting cancer. The son of one of my co-workers has been recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Nueroblastoma. He is receiving treatment at St. Jude's in Memphis, TN. One of his family friends, is running the St. Jude Memphis Marathon on Dec. 2 in honor of him. Please keep Evan Thomason in your prayers. If you would like to make a contribution to St. Jude's through the St. Jude's heroes marathon, please follow the link St. Jude's Heroes.
Psalm 139:17-18 says, "How precious concerning me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand." Can you imagine all of the grains of sand in the WORLD??? This verse says that God has more thoughts about you than there are grains of sand! WOW!
Hope you have a blessed day!
