As you may know, there was a hearing today in Chilton County about Matt's adoption of his ex-wife's daughter.
The judge today decided to set-aside Matt's adoption of Alyssa. She will be going home with her birth-father and his wife to Texas for 3 weeks. Following that, there will be a hearing in front of the divorce judge, Judge John Bush, in Chilton County and at that time, if all are in agreement, the judge will most likely award custody of Alyssa to her birth father.
At the same time, regardless of what Jefferson County decides June 21-25, Judge Bush will most likely return custody of Charli to Matt.
Matt is resigned to the fact that he would never have a good relationship with Alyssa based on what has transpired in the last months due to her mother's manipulation. We agree that its in Alyssa's best interest to have her birth father regain his parental authority in her life. Hopefully, with time and love, Alyssa will be able to trust her father as a Daddy and know all that the word 'Daddy' is supposed to entail.
Continue to keep us in your prayers.
