Okay, here's where we stand. On May 8, Judge Jill Ganus gave temporary custody of the girls to their mom. This is despite the fact that the judge in Chilton County ruled that she should NOT be the primary custodian of the girls. So, they've been back with her since that time.
Matt got to visit the baby - he still has no visitation with Alyssa - on May 5, was able to take her to the family reunion on May 6, and visited with her again on May 9. Now, you need to be aware that the baby has been sick for a while. When we saw her on May 6, she did NOT have a diaper rash and her staff infection had almost healed. On May 9, her mom took her to the doctor and she has ear infections, the staff infection has flared and she has a bad diaper rash. That's in 3 days with her mom!!!
On Thursday, May 24, there is a hearing scheduled in Chilton County about Matt's adoption of the oldest. He doesn't want to give-up on her, but he doesn't know if he'll ever be able to have a healthy father-daughter relationship with her now that she's been poisoned for months by her mom and the 'system'. Why can't the powers-that-be see that this child has been used and manipulated by a mother who lost custody of her kids? Hello! Have they heard of Parental Alienation Syndrome??? They are supposed to be the 'experts' but they've been manipulated and coerced into believing this woman is a saint! What is the deal? Maybe that's why they're in the 'system'...They lack the intelligence to get a job elsewhere!
On a happier note, Julia celebrated her 5th Birthday yesterday! She had a "Princess" party in Georgia over the weekend. Yes, everyone was required to dress-up! I came to the party as 'Aurora' (aka Sleeping Beauty). It did confuse some of the little ones - as you know Aurora is blonde and thin, of which I'm neither! When I called Julia yesterday to wish her a Happy Birthday, her reply was "Don't you want to sing it?!" So of course, I serenaded her with the "Happy Birthday" song as best I could. She went on to explain that she was taking pink cupcakes to school for her class to celebrate with her. MeMe and G-Daddy went over last night and took an extra present from me. I got her a Leap Frog wooden puzzle that's a map of the United States. She could already recognize and point out Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Texas.
Sam and Charli are toddling around now. It's so cute to watch them with their arms outstretched for balance, reminding me of ET! Now, they're much, much cuter than ET, but that's how they walk! Anyway.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Remember Matt as they courts decide if he will be the oldest's daddy next week. We just pray that God's will for her is done.
