The good, the bad and the ugly

Okay, so I won't talk badly about Jessie - we'll stick to the good and the bad...

First, Matt interviewed this morning with the Rainbow City Police Dept. Following interviews with both the Chief and Asst. Chief, he interviewed with the Public Safety Committee. He said that he feels good about this interview, so please keep him in your prayers - specifically that he get this job!

Now to the bad. We knew it was coming, but found-out on this past Friday that Jessie has filed motions to get Charli back, claiming that it would be in the 'best interest' of the girls to be together and raised by her. Now, all of those with a brain know that it would be in the 'best interest' of all of these children, and yes, I'm including her newborn son in this mix, for Jessie to be out of their lives. (I'm leaving it in God's hands to take care of these children, so don't think that I, or anyone I know, is going to pro-actively try to ensure that situation happens!)

Jessie has filed two separate motions. One to try and get two-weeks of 'summer vacation' with Charli. Our argument is that she had Charli for 7-weeks compliments of the Jefferson County courts during which the child lost 2 pounds and went without proper medical treatment, to the point that her doctor said another two days would've allowed the MRSA to enter her bloodstream and probably kill her! Jessie's not entitled to additional time with her!

Also, she's claiming that because Matt's now living with my parents, somehow that makes him unable to be a proper parent to Charli. Keep in mind that when the judge gave Matt custody, the agreement was that he would be living with me. Ask yourselves this, what would make ME a better 'parental figure' than my own parents? Its just CRAZY.

There is a court hearing on Friday at 9AM in Clanton about the 2-weeks. We're not sure about the other part, yet. Matt has yet to speak with his attorney, so I'll let you know what the plans are when I know more.

In the meantime, please keep all involved in your prayers!
