About a week and a half ago, my sister asked if she, Julia and Sam could spend the night at my house the night before Christmas Village. "Of course!" I said with no hesitation. "That's great," she replied because she said that she'd also invited a few friends of her's from the Rome, Georgia area and their kids, too!
Well. The weekend adventure at Amy's Bed and Breakfast has come and gone and everyone survived! Now, if you know me at all - I'm 37 years old, single, and have lived alone for about 15 years. (That's if you don't really count the year I spent with Mom & Dad when I moved back from Georgia before I bought my house plus the year my brother lived here while going through his divorce.) I've basically had family, plus my darling Ericka (Miss Gadsden Area 2004) who is just like another little sister to me, visit me as an overnight guest in all of that time.
I was both anxious and excited about the prospect of hosting my sister's friends for the weekend. Overall, I do think that everyone enjoyed it - well, except Mom who didn't get much sleep and woke-up pretty grouchy. I really think that if I'd had a little more warning then I could've relaxed more.
So, Karen, Tanya and Dawn - if you're reading this and would like to go ahead and plan on this for next year, let me know!!! I'm even up for a repeat for Cottontails village in the spring. Although you'd have to do without me some of that morning. That weekend generally coincides with the Miss Alabama Orientation where we turn-in our initial ticket orders and find-out about the 2008 Miss Alabama pageant production and expecations!
So Mom, Karen, Tanya, Dawn, Pam, Hannah, Alli, Abby, Lauren, Julia, John Aaron, and Sam - it was a pleasure having you visit me and I hope to see you again soon!
Love,
Aunt Amy

Hey Amy!
Thank you so much for letting us stay with you Friday night. We really enjoyed it. You made us feel very welcomed. I think Alli is still talking about the dogs and the cat. I loved Christmas Village and I am so glad Pam invited me. We really enjoyed getting to know "Aunt Amy" better, too. Take care.--karen
